Victory Motorcycles and Victory riders across the U.S. are honoring military personnel and military veterans, and doing their part to support IAVA – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America – with events throughout May. It’s Military Appreciation Month for Victory dealers and riders, and is the month that includes both Armed Forces Day (May 21) and Memorial Day on May 30.

Matt Smith pilots Victory Gunner into the Final Round in North Carolina
Angie Smith races a Pro Stock Victory Gunner in the NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle class. In 2015, Angie qualified for the elimination rounds at 14 events and won her first-round races three times. She finished 13th in Pro Stock Motorcycle points. She and her teammate and husband, Matt Smith, are excited for the 2016 season, and Angie shared her optimism with us as she answered our questions about the season ahead.
Two-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Matt Smith is in his second season racing a Pro Stock Victory Gunner on the world’s premier drag racing circuit. The team extracted additional power from its motors during the off-season, so he has high hopes for a winning 2016 season with Victory. To students at San Benito High School in Hollister, California, he is Mr. Campbell, the friendly, tall, and respected multi-media teacher. To them, he’s a good guy who is always willing to offer some advice about school projects and artwork.
There is no Victory Hall of Fame, but if there were, “Sparky” Bill Toninato would be a deserving charter inductee. He was a Victory fan before the bikes were even on the road. He owns a numbered 1999 V92C and a Victory Vision (his second so far). He was part of several significant events in Victory history, and he founded one of the best Victory clubs/websites.
Jim Tom Stimpson is living, riding proof that the Victory tag line is legit. He rode one, now he owns one – two, actually – and he is riding the wheels off his Victory motorcycles.
