His real name is Urs Pedraita. But to the motorcycle distance riding community, the Swiss motorcycle fanatic is Grisu Grizzly.
In the past two years he has set a pair of distance riding world records on Victory motorcycles, and next year he hopes to set the ultimate record on a Victory Cross Country: The fastest trip by motorcycle around the world. He’ll ride across the required six continents, and will add a side trip to Antarctica to make his record virtually unbreakable.
Throughout 2015, he is making several trips to get familiar riding on surfaces ranging from desert sand to ice to gravel roads. Then, in February 2016, he’ll leave Zurich, Switzerland, on the Victory Cross Country in hopes of circling the world in less than 100 days. (The current record is 120 days.)
With his boundless energy, ability to survive on mere cat naps, and the ultra-reliable Victory Cross Country, count on Grizzly adding to his growing list of world distance riding records. Victory will be following Grizzly in his training routes as well as covering his world record attempt in 2016.WATCH THE VIDEO
