R. Lee Ermey, the retired U.S. Marine and actor best known as “Gunny” from his brilliant performance in the film, “Full Metal Jacket,” will be riding his Victory all over town during Daytona Bike Week.

You can join him, too, as he leads the Victory Ride on Friday, March 15. Be sure to register today for the Victory Ride and the Victory Reception that follows the ride. A link to registration is at the bottom of this article.

Here is where you can catch up with Gunny at Daytona Bike Week:

Thursday, March 14
• Gunny will conduct an autograph session at the Victory Demo Site, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The Victory Demo Site is located at Victory Custom Row in the Daytona International Speedway parking lot. It’s outside the track’s Turn 4, where Richard Petty Boulevard intersects Midway Avenue.

• Gunny will be at Indian Victory of Daytona at 4 p.m. to celebrate the dealership’s grand opening and meet fellow Victory riders. Grand opening festivities start at 3 p.m. Join Gunny, Victory and Indian riders and the dealership team for a ribbon cutting, free refreshments, prizes, and more. The store is at 402 N. Beach St. in Daytona Beach.


Friday, March 15
• Gunny will be at Volusia Motorsports at 10 a.m. to pose for a few photos and get riders to their bikes because it’s kickstands up at 11 a.m. for the Victory Ride, which he will lead. Volusia Motorsports is at 1701 S.R. 44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168; phone: 386-428-2212.

• Following the ride, he will attend the Victory Reception at the Blue Grotto from 1-3 p.m. The ride covers a 68-mile route with a sheriff’s department escort and ends at the reception. The Blue Grotto is at 125 Basin St., Daytona Beach, FL 32114; phone: 386-255-6477.
