When the team at MythBusters needed a motorcycle and sidecar to test another myth, they called on Victory Motorcycles for the use of a 2011 Kingpin. The motorcycle was mated to a custom Motorvation Engineering Spyder sidecar creating a beautiful and powerful rig ideal for testing a brand new myth: that a bug strike could fatally injure a motorcyclist.  Don’t worry: No bikers were harmed in the making of this entertaining episode.

The episode, “Bug Special,” debuted Wednesday, December 1, 2010 and is scheduled to be rebroadcast on Sunday, December 12.

You can watch a preview of the episode and several camera angles of the tests HERE. You'll also see the MythBusters crew discussing the "Bug vs. Biker" myth, and how they prepare the test equipment.  The Kingpin was driven on a closed course at high speeds so the test instrumentation riding in the sidecar like a passenger could make contact with a simulated insect.

The Discovery Channel website currently lists two scheduled rebroadcasts of the episode:
• December 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern
• December 12 at 11 p.m. Eastern
