A Living Legend Among Motorcycle Enthusiasts: Arlen Ness

Custom Bike Builder Rides Victory Vision Tour Motorcycle

When you’re custom bike builder Arlen Ness, you can ride any motorcycle you want. It’s safe to say that Arlen is a living legend among motorcycle enthusiasts. Not only does he have an intimate knowledge of how a bike should handle, he’s got the eye and soul of a sculptor. When a Victory owner puts his or her ride in Arlen’s capable hands, there’s confidence that Arlen will produce something that will look amazing — and still perform as a Victory should. The legendary master custom builder is also Victory dealer, so he knows his Victory motorcycles, and he custom builds everything from full-bodied streamliners to naked bobbers.

For the past several years, his ride of choice has been the Victory Vision.

Arlen loves the Victory Vision because its bodywork makes the bike look like a custom bike, and it’s an exceptionally smooth, comfortable and well-equipped touring motorcycle.

Visit Dublin, California, home of Arlen’s Victory dealership, and you’ll see him riding around town on his lowered, customized Victory Vision. Catch him touring the West en route to the Sturgis rally each summer and you’ll also see him on a Victory Vision — one that’s been specially customized for each new Sturgis rally.

As soon as the Victory Vision was introduced for the 2008 model year, Arlen began applying his particular brand of art to it. He applied custom paint and added several Ness accessories, and soon the Vision became Arlen’s favorite canvas. Arlen has created limited-edition Arlen Ness Signature Series models for Victory each year since the 2005 model year, and from 2009 through 2013, his Signature Series models have all been based on the Victory Vision. In keeping with the Arlen Ness approach — make ‘em long and low — he typically switches to a low windscreen, lowers the suspension, and sometimes removes the trunk when not riding long-distance.

Now, we can’t all be Arlen Ness. But one of the best things about owning a Victory is that you can customize your Victory Vision to suit your style. From fairings to seats to handlebars, you can add elements to your Victory to make it truly your own. Visit the Build & Quote page for the Victory Vision to add the Victory accessories of your choice, see them on the bike, and create a list of the items you want to add. Take the list to your Victory dealer and you can customize your new Victory Vision exactly as you like it.

If you haven’t yet enjoyed the Victory Vision Tour riding experience, schedule a demo ride with a Victory dealer or visit a stop on the Victory National Demo Tour. It’s a touring motorcycle you absolutely must experience.
